Dancing Queens!

On a recent rainy day we decided to get our wiggles out and have fun dancing to music in the basement. This of course required wearing the appropriate attire and it indeed involved dancing to ABBA (and some of our favorites too)!

We were quite exhausted after all of our fun and thought the best way to relax was to have a tea party.
This recent increased interest in moving to music got Mama thinking that we might be ready for dance class so guess what we started last week...

Watch out Dancing with the Stars!

Happy 20-months to ME!

The big 2-0 mark is making Papa and Mama feel like turning 2 years old is right around the corner...especially when some of our behaviors our heading that way at times. We have lived each moment of every nice day when able outdoors, visiting favorite parks or the local zoo. We love climbing and if we drive by a park we yell "slide" being we feel the need to attempt all, big or small (and by ourselves).

We have taken our first trip to the dentist and imagine this...one of us handled it okay, one of us was not too fond. The dentist gave us both gold stars, however, and said in another 6 months we might be able to handle our first official cleaning (Papa and Mama need to see this to believe it!).
Our attention span for certain things such as coloring is expanding but we still migrate to using our crayons in other places such as the wall, furniture, etc. and it of course is more fun when there are 2 of you to get into mischief!
We can be quite particular about what we wear and know whose clothes, shoes and so on belong to who (and we wouldn't want to switch things up!). Limits are being tested everywhere and we often require extra re-directing, but in the end Papa and Mama could not ask for 2 better little munchkins who bring sunshine to each day. And besides, who can resist sweet faces such as this...even though she has stolen the remote from Papa!

We are back!

Sorry it has been so long! No worries, though, we have not been sleeping the summer away as you can hear from this brief sound clip Mama took one afternoon. We were supposed to be going down for a little nap but had too much fun giggling between ourselves for almost 30 minutes before Mama decided we obviously needed to burn off more energy! Look down in the blog for other posts which are new too. Love, ME

Happy 19-months to ME!

Hi there! The latest and greatest in our lives is tending to the horses, Molly and Sugar, out at Grandpa and Grandma's house. We request daily to go visit them and though we haven't quite yet gotten to the point where we let them eat out of our hands, we are very content to drop hay, carrots, or apples into their stall.
Getting to the horses involves hiking down and up a rather large hill for our little legs but in addition to the fresh air it is a great energy burner!

Another favorite outdoor activity has been berry picking! We both love eating raspberries right from the bush however only one of us will eat them out of the container at home (and it is not you, Eleanor).

Our desire to play together has really increased this month which also means the disagreements have increased at times too. One of our favorite games to play with each other is "boo". Whether we jump up from behind something or pop out from around the corner, we elicit countless giggles from each other. "Share" is a word heard non-stop in our household (and so is "sorry"). Ironically we have a system worked out pretty well: Eleanor typically demands whatever Madelaine has even if it is the same or very similar to what she currently has, and to resolve the issue Madelaine typically has no problem switching and going on her merry way which leads to...all smiles!

A day in Duluth!

Mama decided for her birthday she wanted to take a day trip from the cabin to Duluth, which meant we got to go along and experience the city for our first time. We started out at the Great Lakes Aquarium where we were able to come up close and personal with fish found in Lake Superior. There also was a water play area and a pretend tree house, both of which we found to be a great deal of fun!

After our time inside we worked up an appetite and decided to dine out on the deck at Grandma's where we overlooked Lake Superior and saw the bridge go up to let boats come through...exciting as you can imagine.

We even got a chance to walk around Canal Park, enjoy some ice cream, and ended the day playing on the shores of Lake Superior.

We, especially Mama, were blessed with a very special day! Love, ME

Happy 18-months to ME!!!

Yipee, we are 1 1/2!!! Where does time go??? We are having a blast this summer and love to be on the go, especially when it involves the outdoors (we are constantly requesting "outside"). We love, love the water whether it be the lake, our water table or baby pool on the deck, or the Kasson baby pool. We float on our backs, put our face in the water and blow bubbles, splash, kick, jump off the side...you name it, we will try it.

Parks are also of great fun this summer being we now can climb up things, go down small slides, and swing by ourselves.

We have the most fun playing with each other though there definitely are times when pushing and hitting occur along with verbalizations of "no," "mine," and eventual crying.

On our actual 1 1/2 birthday we spent the day doing what every girl loves to do, especially when it is rainy outside...shop! We started our adventure by turning our carseats forward facing and completely enjoyed the new view. The best purchase of the day was our new sunglasses, which we think look very stylish, don't you? Sorry for the long post...we have been busy and had a lot to share!

Love always, ME

Rain or shine, the 4th was fine!

Mother nature decided to bless us with lovely rain on and off on America's birthday, but in typical ME fashion we still had fun. We stayed home from the cabin in hopes of partaking in an event in downtown Rochester which Papa helped organize, but because of the weather you guessed it, it was cancelled. However, we still needed to wear our spirited outfits in celebration of the day! We did our best to celebrate inside...

A break in the rain allowed us to get some outdoor time...

We didn't see any firecrackers, but we naturally are both little firecrackers and likely dreamt about them...

and one of us needed to come back downstairs to hang out with Papa and Mama a bit longer, likely thinking she was missing out on something...
Hugs for Independence Day!
